    Florida auction

Was there a Corvette auction at the Florida meet separate from the ones auctioned by Mecum? If so, who put it on and how did it go-prices, etc.?
    Thanks

Don't think there was another auction. I was at Mecum and they had more Corvettes there than I've seen assembled in one place.

Williiam..the Mecun auction was the only one that I knew of. They advertised over 300 Corvette there up for auction. I think they ended up with around 2,100 cars/boats and bikes over the "block". We went in the evening and spent five hours there up to closing time around 10PM. There were so many cars that we could not see them all in the aloted time we were there. We still missed one large tent.

A 68 or 69 Yellow roaster L88 sold for $610,000.00! I think that may have been the top Corvette in price that sold?

If your not familiar with the Mecum Auctions, you can go onnline at www.mecum.com and sign up on info with your email address and you can see all the last bids aswell as the selling price.

Yes, there were three more auctions in the Florida area the same week as Mecum and the NCRS Meet. These were salvage and car auctions that are carried out either weekly or monthly. I know a couple of brothers from Tennessee that purchased two cars from these auctions and drove them back to Tennessee for their upcoming auction in March. You may see these cars at auction if you attend the Corvette Expo and Muscle Car Show at Sevierville, Tn. on March 23-24.

The largest dealer auto auction in the US is not far from Kissimmee. When time were good that sale could/would move 5,000 + cars a day thru the auction. If my memory serves me correctly there were 18 lanes selling
