    top flight judging for 1961

    Am planning on taking my '61 for Top Flight judging soon and am wondering if many points will be deducted for wheel covers that have
    the 'typical' dents around the outer edge where the cover has been
    struck to attach the cover to the wheel. I am wondering if it would
    be worth getting the new 'correct' wheel covers so as to be in 'showroom' condition.

    I am not aware of any new "correct" wheel covers. All repros I've seen are readily detectable by experienced judges. So, you need to "pick your poison" as to where you lose points, and there's no reason to spend the money for repros. You might want to search for mint originals--but bring the mint with you.

      Unless they are really beat up, you are talking a few points for condition. Not worth getting all concerned.

        If they are "typical" wear, remember they are 51 years old; so, I would expect you will get all points for "orginal" and maybe lose 1-3 points for "condition".
        Have the battery cut off, ncrs sticker and fire extinguisher for the +10 points add on and have a nice regional.
