    Florida wildfire this morning

Just saw on the news about the wildfire mixed with fog on I-75 north of Orlando this morning caused several accidents that resulted in at least 9 deaths. They had to shut down the interstate for awhile. Thoughts and prayers with anyone involved and hoping no one down at Old Town were involved.

On my way back from the Kissimmee Regional this am at about 10:30 on I-75 I was in grid-lock for more than an hour, stoped no move, then spent another hour+ to get routed around 17 miles of I-75 as result of the fire and wrecks which I was told there were 10 people killed and 18 sent to the hospital. I could still see the smoke from the by-pass route that state police sent us on. It was a really bad scene.

We just missed one of those a few years back going from Orlando over to the Kennedy Space Center. We read the next morning they had to shut it down also.

...I am over here for the week bicycle riding out of Venice, FL and I saw all that smoke towards Orlando on an AM bike ride this morning. It was a fair amount of smoke in the air-I thought maybe a commercial airliner went down. Prayers for the victims and families...

My prayers to all those families involved. Could it have been avoided? What can be done to educate the public? When was the last time you saw drivers SLOW down in the pouring rain or fog or smoke? Not around here! Everyone is always in such a hurry. Nobody appears to be thinking of the consequences. It's not like you can't see the smoke up the road. Slow down, flashers on to warn others behind you, pull over until it passes. Sorry, but I just had to say it.
