Re: Jan-Feb Driveline Arrival
Well........it is now 12 days after the first issues of the new year were mailed and I've yet to open my mailbox to a surprise. And I'm located only about 500 miles from Jefferson City, MO. I'm starting to resent the Driveline statement "You found it in the NCRS Driveline!" because by the time I get mine the likelihood of finding anything to purchase, not already sold, is rather remote. Recently I've had reason to communicate by mail to an NCRS member in California and those "trips" half way across the country took only two days each way....and that is door-to-door no less not just to the respective post office. I realize the NCRS publications are not mailed first class but that type of mail-volume is way done and so you'd think they'd be able to find time for all the other classes of mail. After all in two weeks time you could almost walk 500 miles.......well not quite, but still.

Re: Jan-Feb Driveline Arrival
It was GREAT in the mailbox....only problem with staying together was turning the pages...my problem is that I SAVE these as references for the cars in my data base...loose pages are NOT good for "references"- Top

Bill...I can feel your pain...however...not related to The Driveline...but related to the USPS...Member # 14, a prolific poster here, brought a dvd with photos for an upcoming story I am working on....to the local post office in Cumberland, MD on the 4th of January and gave it to the postal worker at the counter...saw it postlarked and put in the outgoing first class mail...I called him on the 14th of January asking if it was mailed...and he sent out another one on Monday the 16th...the one that was mailed on the 16th of January arrived on Thursday the 19th...the one mailed on the 4th...arrived on Friday the 20th...both were mailed from the same post office in Cumberland, MD going about 275 miles to Lawn Guyland...so...who's to blame...at this point, I don't think it matters which class of postage you put on something...once it is turned over to the USPS it's out of our control...when I was on the board of directors we would mail certain items to all chapter chair persons in USPS flat rate Priority Mail Envelopes with tracking numbers...and I can recall at least 7 or 8 occasions they were recieved two or three months after they were mailed...in one instance a mailing was recieved 6 months after mailing...and the USPS couldn't even find them when I went to my local post office and asked them to track/search for them...is there a solution...that's the $64,000 question...I think it's been addressed at every board of directors meeting since I was elected to the board in 1992...
Loren...I'll see Eric this morning and ask him to send you a stapled copy when he returns from Kissimmee....- Top

And guess what Lucille? It ain't gonna get any better.. Three trade publications that I subscribe to have announced they are having to move their mailing dates back so as to be able to meet the delivery deadlines.Dick Whittington- Top
