    2005 Electrical Problems?

Friend has a 2005 that for past year has had electrical problems. It has been in and out of dealer with many thousands $s spent trying to rectify. Car would have intermittent complete electric failure without warning. Dealer redid grounds, replaced, battery, alternator, several ECMs without success. They have just replaced the Onstar system claiming this is the cause as it effects all electric circuits. Is this a problem for 2005s? Doess this sound reasonable? Wlecome any and all thoughts/opinions.

Was it a COMPLETE electrical failure? or Did the car remain running (perfectly fine) during the electrical failure, that is, did the gages go dead, radio dead, no power windows, DIC scrolling through all the error codes, etc, but the car remaining running fine? If so, suspect the drivers door module being bad.

It was complete electric failure. Nothing worked. Dealer would claim repaired and problem would recur within days.
