I don't think I have any springs. I will check for sure tomorrow. These old beasts were pretty primitive.

It is interesting to note that the AIM shows springs on the hood hinges but they were never installed as far as anyone knows.

Thanks guys, I saw that in the aim also which is why I asked. Troy, thanks for the shifter sketch, The only thing I need is the large washer.

I haven't seen the assembly instructions. I can't even imagine how any such springs would have been configured. Can someone post that page for all to see?
