I have a few questions about what i have read in the manual over the past day and before i alter the finishes on my brackets, pulleys, etc. i want to get confirmation that the info in the judging manual is correct.
1. Crank pulley is natural bare cast iron and not painted
2. Black rubber resin coating on waterpump pulley, also called parkolac in one section of the manual.
3. Radiator support bolts that pass from the wheel well through the fender skirt and secure the radiator support in place are Black Phosphate and are blacked out on the wheel well side.
4. Radiator support brackets are painted semi-gloss black-all three on top for big block
5. Front Lower Shock mount bolts, where they bolt to the lower control arm, are black phosphate and a two piece design, which is composed of a recessed head bolt and a washer. Are these the same type bolts as the ones used on the splash outer splash shields???
6. Square grommet around windshield washer nozzles that goes between the nozzle and the wiper grille. Are these really square and if so, what are they made of? I have some recollection of a cork type square grommet from when i disassembled the car, but unfortunately, i did not document them or, perhaps i just made this up.
7. Radiator shroud mounting bolts that pass from the through the radiator support and into the nut clips on the shroud are Cad Plated. I would have sworn these were black phosphate and the same type of bolt used on the outer splash shields.
8. Are the correct front sway bar bracket bolts black phosphate or cad plated? I had cad plated anchor bolts in place, but i am not sure if those are correct. I see long island shows two types, a black phosphate anchor bolt and then a black phosphate bolt that looks like the big block exhaust manifold bolts.
9. I purchased some reproduction WB2C bolts for the front sway bar links, but the head marking is really goofy and fake looking. I have a set of NOS "D" headmark stabilizer bar/sway bar/anti roll bar bolts in the GM bag that came with the car, but i am not sure if these are correct for my year car. Yes, No??
Thanks, i know this is a lot of questions for one post and i appreciate the help.
