69 427/390 upper radiator support seal

I was missing my upper radiator support seal...the one that wedges in between the radiator and radiator support...so I ordered it from one of the suppliers...came as a kit with all 4 seals.

The AIM shows it installed with push pins (which I have) but the new support has no holes for the push pins.

The AIM also makes it look like there is a cutout so that it can go below the 2 top fan shroud bolts. The replacement is just a single thich foam strip with adhesive backing.

The edges of the replacement are also not tapered to fit the top edge of the support, so will stick out a bit one either side unless I cut them down.

    Any ideas?

Hi Gary, I think only later '69 had the push pins,October on?
On the top of the support, my original was n't tapered but squashes to shape.
    Sounds rough but they are.
    Cheers, Graeme.

The support has holes for the pins. Still has remnants of old adhesive from original that must have fallen off. Totally covering one of the holes also. Is there a chance my July 69 car didnt use the retaining pins?

          Any thoughts?

Does anyone have a photo if this foam strip installed in a 69?

I guess I can always just take it with me and install it at the event in kissimmee after I have a chance to ask a judge about push pins on not...just figured it would be easier to mark off and cut holes for the pins if needed before installing on the car.
