I have not seen the certificates on the Corvettes this year like previous years where NCRS was helping with verification of cars, are they there this year?

Re: NCRS at Barrett-Jackson?
I attended B-J and agree with Michael's observation. There were certainly NCRS certificates displayed with some cars, but not the guarantee (for lack of a better term) that was specifically called out on some of the cars on the block in years past. There was some sort of additional certification provided to B-J that the car was in fact NCRS flight judged to a certain level and was promoted as such. It may have been something the seller purchased from B-J/NCRS to have their car listed in that manner. Whatever it was, I did not see it this year. NCRS did have a booth, but I doubt those manning it would have been involved in the question the OP was asking. I was also wondering about this, so will watch for additional comments if someone can clarify.- Top

Re: NCRS at Barrett-Jackson?
NCRS did have a booth faithfully manned by great volunteers. I am not 100% of sure of this but I think this is the story. In order for the announcer to say "NCRS Top Flight" you had to provide the NCRS Award Verification to them (B.J.). There were stickers on some cars that said something mentioning Barrett Jackson & NCRS Awards. Anyone can have whatever paperwork with their car they want. The beautiful Turquoise '55 w/ V-8 that sold for about $150k on Saturday had 2002 National Judging sheets with it. Unfortunately I do not know if they said anything about NCRS when it sold or if it had a sticker. Don H.- Top

Re: NCRS at Barrett-Jackson?
Bottom line - B-J won't permit an owner to claim to have any NCRS awards in the catalog write up, display board or announced by the auctioneer without proof. To make sure the seller provided documentation is correct, B-J orders an Award Confirmation document from NCRS on all Corvettes the seller claims has won an NCRS award.
In the past B-J has made sellers remove any reference to receiving NCRS awards if the Award Confirmation document does not confirm the seller's claims.
NCRS provides B-J a windshield sticker for Corvettes with NCRS awards confirmed by the Award Confirmation document. The sticker is supposed to go on the right hand side of the windshield - towards the TV camera, but for some unknown reason many of the sellers put it on the left hand side.
Interesting to note, the first year the windshield stickers were included with the NCRS Award Confirmation document, the NCRS booth was swamped with Corvette sellers wanting to buy a windshield sticker. Go figure why.
B-J is the only auction house that uses the Award Confirmation document. The others do not. As they say; "caveat emptor".

Re: NCRS at Barrett-Jackson?
I assume B-J does not control the information offered by the seller, prior to the car's auction time. I also assume a potential buyer gets the opportunity to preview the car and evaluate information offered by the seller. Only a few would buy without such a preview, right?https://MichiganNCRS.org
