67 drivers side inner quarter panel questions

I have three 67s at the house two St. Louis bodies, and one A.O. Smith body. on the two St. Louis cars there are two holes in the drivers side inner quarter panel at the back. it looks to be were the 65-66 power antenna was mounted. and the A.O. smith body does not have these said holes. all three cars have what I believe to have the original inner panel. is this a common thing or what

the one St Louis car a convertible is a Nov car, the other a coupe was built in June. the A.O. Smith coupe was built in June as well

My March 3rd car with STL body has these same holes.

Looks like the St Louis plant was using up the remaining inventory of 65-66 panels with the holes for the 65-66 antenna, on 67's.

I'm begining to believe that all 67 STL only bodies had these holes.

My May 24th A.O. Smith body has the two holes.

I have to wonder if the part number/part actually changed from 66 to 67?

I don't have my books/AIM's here or I would check.

It was apparently just a drawing change - '65 thru '67 used the same panel (3866001); in '63 & '64 it was 3797165.

Thanks. Looks like 63-64 would be a different number because there were no antenna motor mounting holes. If the part number 3866001 was shown in the AIM for all 65-67, that would mean that the 65-66 panel with the antenna motor mounting holes was used for all 65-66 and 67's. If that's the case, all 67's would have the holes.

The 63-64 3797165 panel would then be used for service for all 63-67's.

thanks for all the info. I guess from now on at car shows I will be looking for the holes

I have three here that are known originals, St.L. 17K serial range, and two AOS mid range, and all have the holes. Frankly, I think all should have them. Most likely they just stayed with the old number and used it in parts service too.
