69 battery door compartment seal...glued?

    I was Wrong,not the first time .I just found my seal with a join and it was GLUED in.

        Hi,
        The seal on my 71 has it's joint in the right rear corner of the compartment's lip. I don't know if that was typical or not.
        It appears that the yellow weatherstrip adhesive was used; mostly in the corners, and some places on the bottom and some places on the side of the lip.
        About a third of the length appears to have been glued originally.
