59 Hardtop Weatherstrip gap over door question with picture

Hoping I can get some opinions as to the gap I have on both sides of the Hardtop weatherstriping where it goes over the door end caps on each side. Here's what I am talking about:



I don't see any other weatherstriping that belongs there, is it supposed to have that gap and if so, should it be that much? I seem to recall back in the day that people put little pieces of weatherstripping in there to close up those gaps. Been driving the car, no salt/snow yet, but temps in the 20's and the Hardtop is why. TIA for any information or help you can offer. Dan

Dan, it looks like your deck lid is too high.

Hmmmm.......it is a tight fit with the soft top folded up. Maybe I can adjust the soft top to fold tighter and see if that helps.

Anyone have a picture of what they consider a good fit they could post for comparrison? Thanks for the reply Steve!

John, thanks for the pictures, they appear to confirm my decklid is sitting a bit high. I'll take the Hardtop off and readjust everything below.
