Gary, A very good all around shock for corvettes of all years in my opinion is blistein, not NCRS correct, But greatly improves ride and handling.

I enjoy Koni gas adjustable shocks on my 63 and 71. Not NCRS correct.
      It's a good life!

        All------

Basically, there are no NCRS-correct shocks currently available except for used or NOS. So, absent such an available shock, one might as well go with one of the high quality aftermarket shocks like those mentioned by others.

              Re: 63 shocks

I think every aftermarket shock out there is billed as "heavy duty". Does anyone know of an industry standard definition? This term is as meaningless as "synthetic" in the context of automotive fluids.

Rebound adjustable shocks are always the best bet as they allow one to tune the damping to your particular driving style and road conditions. If you can adjust them easily on-the-car like Spax and QA-1, so much the better.

Shocks should be changed at all four corners.

I use the Edelbrock Performer IAS . Outstanding shock with patented valve system. Works like they advertise. I have em on all my chevies.

IMHO, Performers are far more compliant shock than the brands listed above. And they equal or exceed the aboves performance abilities.
