Most of the capacitors were missing on my 66 when I bought it. As I go through the car fixing things, I am replacing the capacitors. Using the AIM (UPC 12 Electrical, and U69 Radio) it is relatively easy to find where they all go and how to connect. Most of the wires or terminals that the capacitors connect to are specifically called out in the AIM, except for the battery meter. There is a black/white wire and a black wire out the back of the battery meter. I put the capacitor under the black/white wire. The picture on page F393 (U69-A5) shows the capacitor going to the Right terminal of the battery meter looking from the back side of the gauge cluster. On my car that is the black wire, not the black/white wire as I have it currently connected.
Should I move the capacitor to the black wire? Or does it make any difference on the battery meter which wire it is connect to.
Thanks,
Don
