I have reviewed the archives and have not resolved a question about date coding of 1967 power boosters. There was a single year only (67) production of the unit (#5867) because the master cylinder change followed by redesign of the power booster for the 68 Model year. These units were julian date coded. I have seen high julian dates 281, 320 on cars produced in November and December. What happened after the begining of the next year. There is dicussion that the part number may have changed although the 5867 is still stamped on the back of the units. There was a second six months of date coding from the first part of the year and 11,000 more cars produced in January - July. Did they start the date coding over again at the begining of the year? Does anyone have a real power booster on a March, April or May car? Please let me know what the code is and verify that the 5867 remains on the back of the Tab.

Re: 1967 Power Booster Date Coding
Keith....my 67 rolled off the assembly line March 1, 1967 (vin 12373). It is a real PB car (per tank sheet) with "5867" on one of the tabs and "7" on the other side of the same tab. I assume my date is January 7, 1967. Sounds like dating started over at #1 with the start of a new calendar year.Attached FilesAvatar--My first ever vette, owned 3X since 1977, restored 1993-2024. Re: 1967 Power Booster Date Coding
I have an April 18th build date 327/300 HP car that came with power brakes. I can not say for sure that the power booster is original though, but when I removed it to have it replated it sure looked like it hadn't ever been off the car. It has NO stampings visible anywhere on any of the tabs. Just throwing that out there. I remember reading originally that 67 power brake booster COULD be dated. Is that true or where they all absolutely dated?

Keith
I have a very late March built car with power brakes. I also cannot say for sure it is original, but from the condition I've always assumed it was. On the back of one tab it has a poorly stamped 5867. It has no date stamp that I can see.
