Point deduction for incorrect starter motor??

What is the deduction for an incorrect starter on a 66 Big Block? I have an correct replacement, but it is not dated, nor does it have a part number.

    Thanks

1107365 is the #, no more than 6 months before the build date of the car.

Right, but do you know how many points they deduct for having an incorrect starter? I have found starters that are correctly dated for my car, but the ones i have found are in the 400-500 price range and i just have not been able to bring myself to spend that type of money on a starter motor.

      Thanks

Chris, thinking of CDCIF, the matrix and JG and the Judging Reference for standard poiny deduction on your starter. With this information all judges should come up with the same deduct. I don't have the 66 JG so I'll avoid trying to figure it out. If you have the above manuals and information you can figure the deduct and be darn close.

Thanks! How have i missed this section in the Judging manual? It must be in the very back.

            Christopher,

If it is a correct Delco Remy replacement starter, you should received small deduction for the incorrect part number and no date code. The total orginality points available is 12 so you should expect to see maybe a 4 point deduct for originality. Are the other items such as the solenoid, brace, heat shield and wire guide if euipped correct and in place? These items can also get a deduct if not correct or missing.

            Hope this helps.

The judging point assignment is not in the TIM&JG (Technical Information Manual & Judging Guide) -- so you didn't miss it.

The judging forms are available on-line from the buttons above. Start with the "publications" button -- that is where they used to be. If no one can find it before I get home I will look for you, but I don't have the inclination to do it for you from work.

Thanks Terry for the clarification of the point assignment. I knew I forgot something.
