The key to all this is that it was a estimated time, some times things come up that we have to wait for our parts.

      John,

You what they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. However, again my response was from viewing and judging untouched vehicles and multiple conversations with workers on the line at Flint. Obviously I wasn't there as I was in the fifth grade or something like that, but do you think for photograpical purposes or advertising maybe that they did not paint the manifolds because for cosmetic reasons? I son't know, but I belive anything you say as you were there. Thanks.

We restored (that is another story) a very low mile '66 small block about 25 years ago. I have photos around here somewhere that will show NO paint on the exhaust manifolds, nor was their any evidence of any.

          Dick,

Maybe the mid year teams need to re-word their JM so as not to fault any owner with unpainted manifolds.

              Ron -

The '63-'64 5th Edition JG is correct (painted), the new '66 JG is correct (unpainted SB, painted BB), and the '67 JG (4th Edition, 2005) is correct (unpainted SB, painted BB); I don't have a '65 JG, so I don't know what it says.

                John,

Thanks for the info. Not being a member of the 63-67 judging teams, I would not be privy to that information. Like everything else, live and learn. Thanks John.
