    1979 Driveshaft U-Joints

    Hi All,

I have buy from ZIP new U-Joints for the Complete Car.

But the Driveshaft U-Joints don`t fit,i have asked ZIP and they answered me that i have maybe not the Correct Driveshaft ????

Who can Help me Please, the Driveshaft U-Joints from ZIP are to Short on both Sides.

I have "I think" my Factory Original U-Joints ,They are from SPICER.

Also the Driveshaft is my Original Shaft.

At this Time i have found other U-Joints and have installed them,On the Pic You can see the Difference the BLACK RIGHT is from Zip,the LEFT is my Original

    Look the Pics Please.

What Now ,What is Wrong and What Correct.

    Thanks for All Reply.

    Rgds.

    Carlo,

What is the Zip Part number(on the box AND on the part) of the "black" u-joint?

Your application requires 1330 series u-joints and from what I can see, you have been supplied 1310 (old 1280) series u-joints. The two are NOT interchangeable.

Carlo, I tried to reply to your PM but it won't send because it says it's full, you must open up some space by deleting some messages........

Joe is correct, you have the wrong part.......

You said you have the ZSU-108 from Zip.

The Zip listing says 53-82, but it says in detail:
        "Will fit all 1953-1967, 1968-1970 4-speed , 1980-1982 automatic and 1980-1981 4-speed rear u-joint & 1980-1981 automatic halfshaft. 1 1/16" cap diameter... " It does not list 1979.

        I believe you need ZSU-109
It says "Original style u-joint for 1968-1979 Corvette driveshaft & 1980-1981 Corvette halfshaft. Original style u-joints do not have an exposed grease fitting. Will fit all 1968-1970 automatic driveshaft, 1971-1979 automatic & 4-speed driveshaft, 80-81 4-speed driveshaft front u-joint........."
