    '69 convertible body parts?

My brother-in-law bought a '69 BB convertable for my sister for christmas, that's love. When she saw it she creid, when she saw the rear end of it I'm told she cried more, it took a BIG hit in the rear. It basically needs a rear clip. His body man has tried to get parts from his favorite vendor, PM of course, but they are back-ordred. So 2 questions

    1. Is there a vendor that has a good inventory of PM parts that anyone might be aware of?

    2. We're on Long Island, NY. Are there any salvage yards in the north east that might be able to help?

The car is at the shop and they are ready to begin work but no parts = no work. He's hoping to get things going. If he can't he has to bring it home and wait until parts and a time slot are availible. Thanks!!

While I have a '72 I'm pretty sure there's a diffeence between '69 and '70. Will look into it though, thanks.

Nope; not the same. Side marker lights and exhaust openings are different. You will be limited to 68-69 only.

The vast majority of Corvettes that "die" as a result of collision damage suffer from extensive FRONT damage. That's why good front clips are so hard to find. The rear clips of such cars usually "go begging". Consequently, you will find it a lot easier to find a good rear clip than a good front clip.

1968 is also different from 1969 in that the back-up lights are separate units below the bumpers. However, it's much easier to convert a 1968 to 1969 configuration than it is to convert a 1970-72 to 1969 configuration. The main impediments for the latter are the side marker light and fender flare differences.

Which fiberglass pieces do you need?
I have original pieces pulled from wrecked or burned cars; fenders, tail light panels, exhaust panels, deck lids, bonding strips, splash shields, etc.
Also have rear bumpers, braces, hardware, tail light buckets/lenses/wiring harnesses, fiber optics, etc.

Check with Contemporary Corvette in Bristol, PA. They often have older parts in their yard.

As noted above, rear clips are not difficult to find. I'd look for an original one.

                        Shucks,
                        That's not so bad.
If you have all of the pieces, I'd just straighten out the rear frame extension and bumper brackets, maybe get another bumper and then patch the fiberglass pieces back together.
