Photo of correct carpet flap over front seat rails on 69

Can someone post a photo of the correct carpet install showing the flap for the front of the seats covering the mounting bolts?

I was told that the original carpeting had a flap. My seats are attached on top of the carpet.

Are the bolts supposed to be black or chrome? What is the length?

    Hi Gary
the bolt is black phosphated with built in washer. I think the bolt is about 3/4 inch
There is a carpet flap that covers the bolt.
Send me an email and I will get you a photo. Can't load up on the forum

Thanks for the pic. Are there any head markings on the bolt?

I don't remember, to be honest.
I'm not sure if I were the judge that I'd worry about that.

I'd just buy one at Lowes from the parts bin, because they're right on.
OK, they may be black colored and not dark gray phosphate but otherwise there are often some at the hardware store that work very well. I've used them for this previously.

I don't know for sure if a 71 carpet flap is the same as a 69, but I still ahve my original carpet stored away and can look at it for you if that helps.

The carpet flap is the same for 1968 through at least 1977. (I believe it goes later also but I don't judge those.) Note that the flap runs with the rail (front to back of car), not from side to side like I have seen when judging C3s.

                Hi,
I have some photos of the flap area on the original carpet from my 71.
It hasn't been mentioned, but at least on my car, a piece of carpet under the track's foot was cut and removed. It's directly adjacent to the flap.
The flap is 2 1/2" wide and 2" long.
The piece removed is 2 1/2" wide and 1 1/2" long.
The flaps and removed areas are surprisingly consistent for all 4 flaps.
The pictures are of the driver's side outer flap.
                Regards,
                Alan
