69 427/390 engine lifting eye color

I went to a car show today and someone pointed out to me that they thought my engine lifting eye at the front drivers side of the engine should be painted orange or silver.

I have a 69 427/390 and thought that most of my engine compartment was totally original. The lifting eye looks original and is painted black.

    Any thoughts?

    Gary

    Hi Gary
If your intake is orange painted...then engine lift is painted orange
If you intake is alum then the bracket is natural steel or slight paint of silver.
    Thanks, Grant

390's have the natural steel front lifting eye. I would suspect if you take the paint off the one in your car now, it will be the correct finish.

      Good luck,
