I am trying to identify if I have a 1963 Corvette Spare Tire Carrier Tub(upper portion Only). It has the following mark molded into the inside portion of the fiberglass("MFG 19154"). I would like to know if its an ORIGINAL, a GM REPLACEMENT, a REPRODUCTIOn or if it is possibly for a 1964 to 1967 Corvette. I will attempt to attach pictures to this posting.

"MFG" is the logo for the Molded Fiberglass Corporation in Ashtabula, Ohio - they were the original supplier for that tub (and many other Corvette panels).- Top

My late '65 tub has the same "MFG 19154" molded, and has the larger lip common to post-'63 tubs, forward of the hanger bolts. So I'd guess from the pics that yours is the thin-lipped '63.- Top

It's clearly not worth this price.

Has anyone ever seen the rubber bumpers that are called out in the 1963 AIM for the top of the spare tire carrier. I could never figure out if I need these.- Top
