    #10159519

#10159519 should this have all 4 gaskets or is it just the side rails?
I dont think this gasket set would pass NCRS judging, any way as it is not cork. would a Fel pro gasket set in cork work as for as passing judging standards?

Not quite sure what you are asking what gaskets.

GM #10159519 is a GM replacement oil pan gasket set for 1965-74 big blocks. I'm not familiar with it but if it's not cork, it would probably not be the thing to use for judging purposes (even though it's probably a functionally better gasket). Of course, the best thing to use from a FUNCTIONAL perspective is a 1 piece type gasket.

I would say that the Fel-Pro gasket set, if of cork material, would likely be the best bet from a judging perspective. The better Fel-Pro oil pan gaskets have side rail gaskets of cork laminated to a steel core. If using a 4 piece gasket set, these are the best. I do not think the steel core would be discernable when the gasket is installed and the engine painted.

I would agree with Joe's statement if you are staying on the judging side the Fel-pro would be the way to go. But even with the GM gasket not being cork material a deduction would be minimal if noticed during judging say a 1 point at most. Most people apply heavy paint to the oil pan and loss points for finish not typical of factory production. With that the paint is so heavy the gasket can not be seen since the outer edge is now Chevy orange.
