1967 fuel pump issues

2 prong question. Anyone experiencing high fuel pressure -one carb restorer said he was seeing a lot of flooding from ethanol caused malfunction of pressure relief valves in Chinese fuel pumps? Where is best source of a FUNCTIONAL(correctness fine, but must work) '67 SB fuel pump-Paragon, LI Corvette, etc.??

On my 67 I used the AC-Delco replacement (p/n 40503) it looks very close to the original pump just no AC logo on the side.
Went to my local AC-Delco distributor...

I did the same thing but added an AC ink stamp, the judges were surprised to see the stamp.

My 66 Impala 283 has it's original fuel pump and have been using ethanol fuel for the past 25+ years.

If one was to use a truly old NOS fuel pump, what do you think with today’s current gas and 10% ethanol in the gas. What kind of service would one get out of a pump with it being so old?

Are any of the "correct" fuel pumps such as sold by Paragon (rep on phone said they are made in U.S. "as far as he knows") of good fuctional quality as opposed to just "good for judging."How about the first part of my original question-any high fuel pressures causing carb flooding due to internal breakdown and blockage of pressure relief from some of the replacement, foreign pumps?

William..I have the Paragon pump with the logo (AC) on my 67 L79 for 2 years without any issues..Bill

Are all the "correct" pumps now being sold by Paragon or where ever rebuilds (not counting NOS) and has anyone had experience with these '67 SB rebuilds?Where can you find an AC stamp to put on one of the new Delco pumpsThanks

Dont think an AC stamp will get you any more judging points. If i remember correctly the raised AC letters are 3/4" high on an original stlye pump
and somewhat shorter on a replacement.

When I replaced the pump on my 67 a year or so ago I considered the rebuilt original but I wasn't comfortable with a pump with a
recrimped base. In the end I went with the current no AC logo replacement.

Checked my fuel pressure -gauge on fuel line disconnected at 3367 Holley carb and got 7-8 psi. Service manual calls for 4-6.5. Is this the cause of my mysterious flooding in secondary bowl only? Thanks
