    Elc exhaust codes

I am looking at a 67/435 Corvette with a tank sheet. It shows off road exhaust with the ELC AA. I thought that BB Cars would be AB. My friend is wanting to buy the car but I wouldlike to know if that is the right code. THANKS

    Ken -

Are you talking about N-11 (undercar) or N-14 (sidepipes)? All cars with N-11 used the "AA" ECL, and big-blocks with N-14 used the "AB" ECL.

What is the difference between N-11 & standard exhaust. Is it the 2.5 pipes

          Ken:

I believe the only difference is low restriction mufflers (more noise and less backpressure). Most folks, self included, like the off-road muffler sound.

            Ken,
I would suggest to your friend that he use the NCRS Document Validation Service to check the tank sheet before he makes the purchase.

NCRS Document Validation would not be necessary if the code is wrong.

I got him to join yesterday. Like another poster said if it was AB then I would have known it was fake. My 435 with N-14 sticker listed the ECL as AB & I made the assumption that all BB'S would be AB with other exhaust.IIf he can get the delivery shipper data from NCRS & it matches then I would feel better about the tank sticker. THANKS ALL

                  Re: Elc exhaust codes

Thanks guys for the help. I'm new to the forum and am in the process of trying to locate a 67 435. The corvette community has been great and I have made some great friends and contacts. Ken has been great and a wealth of knowledge. I'd love to find a couple of experts including Ken to help identify if a car is real. I'm currently looking at a car in Phoenix. Your thoughts?
