67 with power windows. The slider for the park brake handle has nowhere for the over run to go when the handle is down it runs into the little box installed in the console for the power window switiches. If I cut off the slider then there is a hole when the handle is up. Am I missing something here. Ed

All I can tell you is what I have on my power window car, the slider has been cut off to leave a hole when the handle is up. I'm not sure if it is correct, but when I replaced the pw switch a while back I saw no other way for it to work.

Re: 67 park brake handle slider
The slider on mine w/PW is cut short leaving a hole also when the brake is up. I, too, wondered about this as the console appeared to have never been out of the car prior to my removal. (only 1 previous owner before me)- Top

I'm not certain, but as far as I can tell, the "hole" is just the way it was, with or without power windows. Here is a link to another thread on the same subject: 67 Parking Brake Slide
Adams p. 390 shows the same "hole", can't tell for sure if it's a power window car or not. In order to check whether you have an original (or possibly a correct early service replacement) "slider", if I understand correctly it should have the opening cut on the passenger's side. That's how mine was. The later (and longer) service replacements have the opening cut on the driver's side. I thought this was covered in the 1967 Judging Guide, but I couldn't find it.
Hard to believe they just left an open "gap" like that.- Top
