68-76 a/c -heater panel illumination (or lack thereof)

Is it common for the early C-3 heater control panel to not light up well? Or is that just mine for some reason. I'm fairly sure I have the correct lamp! Just thought I'd ask before I tear it out!

I have the same issue with m,y 69. The light is on but not very bright. It improved when I replaced the light switch, because the restat was not working well. But is still not very bright even after the switch replacement.

If the light is dim:

Be sure you have the proper bulb installed and that the inside of the bulb and the outside are clean. The proper bulb will be listed in your copy of the Owner's Manual or Volume 16 #1 of The Corvette Restorer

Measure the voltage at the bulb socket with a digital voltmeter. If there is less than 12 volts be sure the dash lights are turned to full bright. If still less than 12 volts trace the wiring to find out where you are losing voltage.

Be certain you have a good ground. A poor ground is most often the cause of a dim light -- especially on Corvettes.
