Re: 67 tach face replacement
Charles,
You posted this in the Help Forum. Best to send a note to a Admin to move it to the TDB.
but.....I can help for now too. The needles are a press/twist fit. Hold the back of the cup, and gently and firmly twist the needle while pulling outward. You can also hold the shaft with needle-nose pliers. Either way it's a bit nerve racking but be gentle and twist carefully.
To reinstall, again hold the cup or shaft with pliers and gently push and twist the needle back on counterclockwise, carefully aligning the needle to the "zero" mark while holding the cup or the shaft while it's in the zero position. You may have to "tweek" the needle a little to get exactly at zero.

Re: 67 tach face replacement
Charles,
Piece of Cake! Remove the speedo and tach from the bezel by removing the screws on the back and tilting the assy. from the rear and remove. Take the pointer at the center and turn it counterclockwise gently until it releases. Remove the two small screws on either side of the pointer shaft and remove the face. Reverse the procedure for assemblying the face. Now take the pointer and press it on the shaft at about the 1000rpm position. Turn it to the "O" position and press gently. You are done after installing it back in the bezel.
Like I said, "Piece of Cake".
