Coker Tre and MidYear Whitewall Radials

About 4 years ago when looking for some driver radials for my 62 & 63 cars I purchased 2 sets of Dimension IV 205/75R14's from Coker. I was told that they were they only tire in the market and they had a 1 & 1/8 whitewall. I never could get the whitewalls white. They always seemed to have a blue/green hue. I recently contacted Coker for advise on getting them white. The person I spoke to told me there were "issues" with these tires and that they no longer sell them.

I was informed that they now carry the American Classic which is a 1" whitewall. (Still not the 7/8" but better that the 1 & 1/8). After pushing hard I finally got a real discount on the purchase of the new tires. Still, not what I would consider all they should have done. I put up the bucks and ordered 4.

Would you believe that the new tires have brown streaks in the whitewalls!

Does anyone have any experience like this or know where to get 1" whitewall radials?

    Thanks

Try Diamond Back Tire or Kelsey Tire. Have bought from both and been satisfied. Got Firestone radials with 1" WW from DB and Biasply with 1" WW from Kelsey for my 63. I think they both can do 7/8 WW. Check them out.

Diamond Back (www.dbtires.com) will put any width whitewall you want, any distance from the rim you want, on nice new modern radials made in modern high-volume tire plants (vs. Cokers that are made in refurbished old segmented molds, made in God-knows-where Mexico).

I agree, Diamondback is the way to go here. They put the proper redlines for my '67 on a set of Michelin X radials, the best tire they have.
