    Starting instruction label sleeve

Did the cars from the 70-72 have a Starting instruction label sleeve on the drivers side visor?

    Hi Lyndon,
The 70-72 Judging Guide indicates that the starting label was on 72 model year car's sun visors. I don't believe they appeared on any 71 cars.

There was no paper sleeve for 1970-72 visors. The cloth label that began around December 1971 had adhesive backing.

Lyndon, I got a repro one for my 72 that looked as the original and correct part no. go to Jim Osbornes reproductions Web site. If I remember correctly there were a few different part no.s It maybe spelled out in the JM. ( Early and Late). Also they don't like sticking to the comfort weave visors, it is a peel and stick, you might want to very lightly spray some extra adhesive, be careful it is a cloth material and to much extra glue will soak through.

So I am trying to get this right for 1971 cars there was no starting label? 1972 cars had a label, as did the 68-70 cars? Is that right?

I don’t understand why some years would have instructions then other years not, was the 71MY some other place?

                Only 72's had the label.

                  I don't know about 1968.
1969 had a starting instruction sleeve -- because the key moved from the dash to the steering column and someone thought owners needed to know where to put the key.

19760 & 1971 Owners were expected to read the Owner's Manual. Fancy that idea.

1972 starting instructions are on a glue on sleeve -- Lawyers.

You should see what you get with new cars, but it is best we don't go there. Ignorance IS bliss.
