There is no preferred way to get the date code on them. I have seen some attempts, but in my opinion they leave a lot to be desired. Having said that maybe the very good attempts fooled me and I took them for originals, but I doubt it. Remember the date is only 20% of the available compressor points, and I think the compressor is lumped in with some other AC parts, but I may be wrong about that. The date isn't much is my take.
I remember a post a while back that someone displayed their efforts at reproducing the date code. You might get some joy in looking for that, but then again maybe not. I probably should have paid more attention to that post, but not owning a C3 with C60 leads me to be casual about such luxury options.
There are some differences in the labels, but it depends what model number is on the label as to the differences. Some model numbers are better than others, but I suspect all the labels come from one source so the market limits your options anyway. I will be interested is seeing some other folks take on these so I can learn more.Terry- Top
