I have a drip coming from the front seal behind the harmonic balancer. Has anyone used this item to help correct it
My engine was rebuilt with a new seal . Maybe a solution for the rear input shaft that is worn as well , Timken Harmonic Balancer

Used them on balancers and rear end yolks. They work great.

some times this happens if you do not lube the seal area on a rebuild as a dry start will screw up the new seal

I have used them (the harmonic damper sleeves) in several cases with success. Be sure to follow directions. Very clean surface and use the adhesive supplied.

I have gotten them from the parts house that were slightly too big. Same brand, same part number and the next one would be snug. It's obviously important that they have to be pushed on rather than slipping on/off with no effort, even with the stickum'. Outside of that they work great. I had a big block balancer that looked perfect and never could make it not drip, so from that point on started always using 'em.

I always use Permatex #2 under the sleeve. I have had the best results with the CR Speedi Sleeve

Thanks for the response. I take it that the sleeve would not interfere with the keyway ?

the key way is on the inside of the bore and the sleeve goes on the outside. also make sure you put a dab of non hardening pematex on the key to keep oil from running out the key way
