Re: 62 spare tire tub bubba or not
Can't take a look at mine to determine if all of them are factory original, but know that some definitely are. Interesting to me that GM, to my knowledge, didn't put drain holes in the metal cars of the era, but did in the fiberglass car. They expected them to leak, apparently. And they weren't disappointed!- Top

Re: 62 spare tire tub bubba or not
Jerry, I had #0029 judged at the Lone Star Regional and it is an unmolested car. There was one hole in the tub with a plastic plug of some sort and one on each side behind each wheel where the body mounts are. The top would be thru the access covers in the trunk. See pic from under the car.Attached Files- Top

I believe the holes were added to help drain tire well when trunk leaked. Rich- Top

My trunk has one hole. Ironically it is the one that appears "out of place" in you picture about 3/4 way down the right groove. Mine does not have the holes at the end (low point) of the other grooves.- Top

It's such a small thing, but that's what makes this forum so great.....Seems like the concensus is the General added one of my drain holes as depicted by the picture that Dave Heitzman (our 61-62 Team Leader) supplied of a Bowtie car at this years National
Bubba added the other holes in copycat fashion...Bubba strikes again.
Thank You Everyone...JerryAttached Files- Top
