'69 tire help

On a '69 Corvette a friend owns he is running V-rated 225-70R-15 Goodyear Eagles on all fours. The front tires rub the wheel openings. He can't seem to find the V-rated 215-70R-15 Goodyear Eagles. Anyone know where they might be found?

Thanks, Terry. I did a bit of searching myself and you are soooo right. The guy with the tire rub problem is talking of taking a grinder to the lips of the front wheel wells. I am not a proponent of cutting up original classic cars.

I agree with you. He might mitigate the rubbing with less aggressive driving, but it doesn't sound like that idea will receive a warm welcome. If I had some good tires for him I would covet those 225s even though my Caprices came with 235s. Those are like chicken lips now too.
