With the shipping information now available, it should shed light on how often dealer trades took place. I'm sure this had led to several owners being surprised to find the origin of their car different than what they thought to be true.
Cases in point on recent cars I have owned: 67 Corvette. I spoke to the original owner who purchased the car from John Geer Chev in Sacremento which I documented in my paperwork. However, it was shipped to Hatch Chevrolet which was at least a 100 miles away.
Also, my 62 which I purchased from the original owner and was purchased from Holler Chev in Orlando. Paperwork backs that up. However, a rare piece of documentation shows the car shipped to a dealer in Titusville some 50 miles away.
The original owner did tell me he was told Holler dealer traded with a dealer in Daytona Beach. Out goes that bit of information.
I hope everyone appreciates what is available to them!! It certainly pins down more beginning history on these cars.
