    1972 350/200 - Carb Vac Hose Connections

    Hi,

Working on adding back the TSC solenoid and Idle stop to my 72.
This car has AT, PS, PB, AC 350 200hp. Q-Jet.

Right now, the vac advance line from distributor runs around the RH (passenger) side and around to the bottom front of the Quadrajet.
The vac port on the RH side has a tube with bolt in the end.

When I install the TSC solenoid, vac advance from distributor will run to the TSC and then from TSC to the RH side of the Carb. When I do this, what plugs into the front bottom of the carb where the vac advance from distributor was connected?

Is there some other connection that needs to be made here?

Scott the 1972 AIM has a drawing showing the TCS connections. I don't have mine handy to give you the page number, but it is there I am sure.

Dude, you know where to look for the answer.

You're missing that vacuum hose I previously mentioned that goes to the left side of the car (Evap Hose). Buy the kit from Doc Rebuild and you'll be good: http://www.docrebuild.com/dr-r-web/PCV1.PDF

I actually have both of those connections already in the front.
Right now, there are THREE (3) in the front.

When I remove the VAC Advance from the distributor hose from the front with the addition of the TSC and plug it into the RH side, that will leave an empty port on the front bottom.

What goes there is the question?

Nothing. You have one extra connection that shouldn't be there.
There should be a small one on the front of the carb body toward the left, a large one on the base to the right of center. If you have a third then I suspect your carb base or body led a different llife previously.

Your technical knowledge is impressive. So.. I just unwrapped the new carb. Sure enough, it has only 2 connections in front whereas the one that's on the car now has three. Just assumed there would still be an extra with the new carb. Problem solved.

(Wonder why the previous owner didn't just use the RH vac port and opted for the front.) Well.. not my problem once I finish this swap.

I've got my Doc Rebuild Hose Kit and the other parts I'm waiting on arrive tomorrow.

            Thanks -

            Scott.

              And it's DONE !

After collecting a date correct carb, TSC Solenoid, hoses, Idle Stop solenoid, connectors, etc. took car in to have the carb installed
and the other pieces bolted on and connected. The carb that was on was a service replacement. The new carb makes an UNBELIEVABLE
difference. Car runs like never before. Shifting improved.. no bog on acceleration, and everything looks right. Did have a little dialing
to do on idle and suspect it will need a little more .. but what a difference.

Carb was purchased from Carb Junkys in GA. They rebuilt this date code unit and plated it etc. Great to work with. Honest, helpful and reasonable.

County Corvette did the engine work. These guys are reliable, knowledgeable and do a clean, accurate and technically correct job.

Just have to apply a special sticker to the valve cover and we're moving onto interior.
