'57 Exhaust System

I will need to replace the complete exhaust system in my '57. The car will be flight judged so I would like to get some member input on what reproduction exhaust system will come as close to original as possible.

Easily installed Corvette Central's system on my '57 with no fitting problems whatsoever.

Like Gary, i used the same system. After installation, i went to a buddie at a muffler shop to have the system tweaked a bit to solve some clearence issues. See page 93 of the JM re: blackout of the system, fine threads natural steel U-bolts and ground strap useage. Mine were too long and I used a tube cutter to trim the excess off to a finger width. I see lots that are flush but you need the little extra to prevent the water from spitting out on the chrome.

Tom,
That's good advice. I follow the JM and AIM as well as I can and will use
NOS or very good used GM parts as much as possible.
But in the case of the exhaust system it's always good to ask advise on components that almost always have to be reproduction. I've looked around for some NOS '56-'57 exhaust without any success. So Repo it is.
