    67 seat tracks

Hi...I'm redoing the interior on my 67 roadster and am cleaning the seat tracks as part of the process. Some surface rust so I used 00 steel wool, and the finish came off down to the bare metal. The finish seems like it's painted gray, but may be some other finish. Does anyone know what the tracks are finished in? The brackets thaty are attached to the tracks appear to have been bare metal. Thanks for any help.

George, as far as I can determine it looks to be phosphate.

      Gene,

Would this be a grey phosphate and is this still done? I need to have mine done also so this is a timely post for me..

Yes, you can buy the solution, cook up the parts in the outside grill on low heat. Best parts are sent out to a plater that does phosphate plating.
