    348/409 question

    did the original intake manifold end seals on the 348/409's have a horizontal tab with GM embossed on them like the sbc and bbc original end seals had? thanks,mike

        i bought a set off ebay last week but the seller musta substituted generic end seals before shipping to me. got me he did. mike

          I assume the package was previously opened? Whenever that happens all sorts of shenanigans can occur.

          Notwithstanding the above, it is possible that an original GM gasket set was packaged with no-name end seals. These gaskets were manufactured by outside suppliers and once also sold in identical form under their brand name except for the "GM" stampings and embossments. Sometimes, packaging errors occurred. For instance, I've seen rear main seals in Fel Pro packaging that had the GM part number embossed on them. This is a no-no but it happened. I expect the same sort of thing could happen with intake gasket sets.
