    East Coast Cad Plater Recommendation

I need to have my front brake dust/water shields and some small bolts re-plated. Can someone recommend a good plater on the East Coast? Shipping items to the West coast ends up taking way too long these days.

    Thanks

You may want to contact Paul's Chrome Plating in PA if you are calling around.

I have contacted them before concerning chrome plating-i would probably need to empty out my life's savings just to have the dust shields re-plated.
        Ill contact them anyway though.
        Thanks

This past summer I was looking for a cad plater and tried Paul's since they do my chrome plating. They don't do cad and couldn't recommend someone who did.

After doing some research I came across Manco Plating. I had them plate the seat tracks for my '61. They did a great job.

Try Westfield Electro Plating in Westfield MA. They have been doing my CAD for years.

I used Beringer Plating to do all my cad/zinc parts on my 1960. I though the price was very reasonable. However, there is a setup charge which I think is $90-$100, then each piece is cheap, so you need to send a box full.

I sent all door inside stuff, latches, plus strikers, trunk latch, etc. I think it was over 20 pieces and it was $146. Best bargin I have found so far in my first vette restoration project

Do these plating shops require any kind of prep? If so, what is recommendated?

The guy at Beringer said to remove any old paint and plating as much as possible. They clean in some form of degreaser or other bath, not sure what. For most of what I sent, I blasted in my cabinet with glass beads. But for a couple of pieces that or more visible (deck lid latch) I just wire brushed it and it came back looking new
