WB Bolt for 66 Help determine the location

Ok, so the bolt of the day game failed a while ago, so ive changed the name for the bolt threads.

I have been over the car and i am still clueless as to where most of these bolts go, even after looking over another 66 that is fairly unmolested.

-This is a WB bolt with 5 marks on the head, which I presume means it is grade 8.
-It looks identical to the bolts that mount the front bumper to the bumper brackets which mount to the front crossmember of the frame, except it is longer and has a portion that is unthreaded.

Possibly the transmission mount bracket where it bolts to the crossmember. Can somebody verify what that specific bolts headmark should be?

BTW, i put the new black phosphate coating on the bolt and i believe it to be correct for this particular bolt.

This is the rear pinion snubber to frame bolt. Should be cad from the factory.

I think i have the correct bolt for that location. It is a little bigger than this one, if you are referring to the bolt that passes through the front of the frame, cushion, and front of the differential bracket. I will check this evening and report back.

Up to early 70s the pinion snubber bolt should be 7/16-14 thread x 2-3/4" grade 8 Just what you have there. Gots a few hundered if them upstairs. And just measured one to make sure. Later ones are 2-7/8" long and 3-1/4" long. I'd be interested to see what you have for the pinion snubber bolt.

The bolt i currently have in the pinion location is cad plated, or what is left of the cad plating. The only bolts that i put a new black phosphate coating on were ones that showed evidence of being black phosphate originally. However, that doesnt mean i didnt mess up. I've found a few others that i put black phosphate on that should not have it, and i did originally think this was one of the front bumper bolts, so...

            Christopher,

Is there any portion of the unthreaded shank (not visible in your photo, it would be on the other side) that has a vertical line going from the underside of the bolt head to where the taper begins, just before the threads start?

If it's there, this line or groove is just deep enough to feel with your fingernail.
