    4346 fuel pump question.

I picked up a decent 4346 AC fuel pump today at a local auction and on the top near the cast "AC" is a small raised RP for Rochester Products. See attached picture.

Can someone explain the why the "RP" is on a AC part?

Excuse the color, the top was painted for some reason.

    Thanks.

    Re: 4346 fuel pump question.

Rochester had a huge die casting facility to pour carburetors, not at all unreasonable to have them do in-house casting for AC, either as a main supplier or on a contract basis if AC had a problem in-house. Just looking at a few random AC pumps here, it's not unusual to see the RP logo where you are showing it in the picture.

One other interesting thing I noticed looking over a couple of misc pumps I have here, is that the RP is not unusual on "Standard" pumps, but I haven't seen (doesn't mean they don't exist) that designation on the 40083 pumps that used the magnesium top casting.
