1953 distributor

I have a 1953 corvette distributor with the tach gear drive. It is model 1112314 stamped on the inner plate with a date code of 2K8 (52 Oct 8).
Is this date OK for an early 1953 corvette? (August, September ) or for all 1953 cars.
On the bottom of the distributor is cast# 1924236 0D9.
Where can I buy a new tach drive gear for this distributor?

The only date I have ever seen on a 53 distributor contact plate is 3E1.
