I haven't been on the forumn for a while, when did Dave pass away? Now we lost him and Pirkle..two more of the good guys are gone.

Dave had been ill for the last couple of years with T cell lymphoma. Dave passed away August 10th.

During the summer as I recall. Search for his name. There were several threads about it and I think his passing was also mentioned 2 Restorer's" ago.

In addition to his Corvette involvement Dave was a retired USAF officer and flew as a "Wild Weasel" during Vietnam. Weasels took on the surface-to-air missile sites ahead of the strike aircraft. They lured them into locking their radar onto the Weasel aircraft (F-100F and F-105F or G), then launched their own missile that followed the SAM radar beam back to the SAM site. Took big balls to fly those missions. You had to get SAM before SAM got you. I believe he was later involved in the F-22 program.
