68 Oil Fill Tube Color

Hi everyone my question is the color of the L-79 oil fill tube is it orange , or black, or chrome ???

Painted orange with the engine.

So how come 1968 L-79's have chrome valve covers (one of only 2 small block Corvette applications to EVER use chrome valve covers) but do not have a chrome oil filler tube? I don't know.

Taking the manifold to be cleaned inside and blasted outside, then a bath, and vht hi temp orange paint. Does L-79 uses a different oil fill cap then a base engine ? Mine is chrome with a S on the rivet.

I believe the L-79 used a chrome oil filler cap.

My original owner 68 327/350 L79 has painted oil filler tube, some of the original orange paint is missing. Came with and has chrome oil filler cap with S stamped on the head of the rivet.
