Re: 54 exhaust pipe not quite right
Yep
put the exhaust in the bracket first
then tighten up to the exhaust manifold
the CC repro exhaust is not quite right
you can also lengthen the slot to try to gain some adjustment.1954 Corvette #3803 - Top Flight 2012, Bloomington Gold 2012,

Re: 54 exhaust pipe not quite right
I attached exhaust to manifold, place wood spacers to ctr exhaust in frame holes, then used a 2x4 to "factory bend" exhaust to fit trans exhaust clamp. I wanted to be sure exhaust seated well to exhaust manifold (no leaks) Watch crossover clearance under oil pan. Worked well.- Top

Re: 54 exhaust pipe not quite right
Interesting - seems the "work around" is no real issue but I guess I should ask this question since I planned on placing an order for my exhaust system in January with CC ..... Is there another supplier that members have had better luck with? Certainly I would think there would be one supplier that makes their system available to several major parts catalogs so the little problem here may possibly be found from another company as well.
Just wanted to ask - unfortunatly no exhaust on my car when I got it otherwise I may have had the local bend shop fabricate one for me...
Thanks

Re: 54 exhaust pipe not quite right
I had a hard time just connecting the pip to the manifold and Im not taking it loose, it doesnt leak now so Ill try the 2 X4 factory bend, I really want to use that clamp. Thanks for the input. My body is going on in May.- Top

Re: 54 exhaust pipe not quite right
I put the pipe in the exhaust hanger - loose
then tighten up to the manifold.
the RH pipe from C Central fits like crap
it is real close to the pan
with some work with the hanger on the trans side
you can get it to fit pretty well.1954 Corvette #3803 - Top Flight 2012, Bloomington Gold 2012,
