    C-3 stereo radio question

I have a 1972 Corvette stereo radio and a decoder/convector not installed in my car as it is a 1970 Corvette. The radio was acquired before I got the decoder/convector. The decoder/convector are mounted together piggy-back style. It appears to be a factory "bond". Has anyone seen others like this? The screws used to attach the two appear the same as the one that holds the yellow and blue wires.

    Thanks,

The DS-501s are '68s so I'm wondering if this is in the '68 AIM like the way mine are paired.

Contact Jerry Rudbeck, he might be a help.

I will second Jerry. He rebuilt the stereo radio for me and it sounds great!

He is a wealth of knowledge.

Jerry can't answer that one. I've only seen one other C3 radio with the decoder and convector stacked like that and assumed the owner or his tech did it. It's an interesting question for sure... Perhaps one of the judges can comment.

Found this thread and will bring it back to the top as I think I found the answer. That stack arrangement was a 68 thing and is what I was talking about in the 68 multiplex converter thread, 68 Multiplex and Converter U79. I may be looking for one soon as I think my FM stereo is out, but the radio is kind of useless in a top down car.
