68 Rochester 7028219 Q-jet

Looking for one of these impossible to find carburators. Any information on the where abouts would be Greatly appreciated. Whats on your shelf ???

Jeff,

You will need the date code also if you are going to have the car judged. I think that you need to be in that three month window before the car was made. There are carbs out there, and there are several carb dealers out there. The one I have worked with is in Middlesex, NJ. 732-356-433. be careful not to purchase a service replacement. The service replacement has a rectangular protrusion in the front of the carb.

Rectanglular protrusion ??? Where and what do you mean?? I see the fuel filter area. Could you share more information .

this one is a service replacement notice the protrusion on the left front(driverside) it sisort of rectangular not square.

i see the protrusion in the photo and never seen one like that and know that mine don't have that feature either. Thanks for posting the impostor. The colors on this carb that i posted don't equal a 100% correct NCRS score do they ?

You might get a point or two off for color but if the numbers are good and the date is within the allowable window before the car was made you should do well.

that is the holder and locator for different external carb solenoids used for idle speed when the A/C is turned on for example.

no i was referring to the projection on the top of the carb on the throttle side and what is it purpose
