    67 repro tire judging.

How does the currently availble reproduction BF Goodrich WW tire compare to the Goodyear for judging purposes?

    Thank you,

    Randy

In case you don't have a reference manual, that's a 10% originality deduct ( you lose 3 of the 30 available points).

Is there a reproduction tire that does not take a deduction.
        thanks

I don't think so, as there still are some other detectable differences on the tires I've seen.

The 3 point deduct is designed to be very small, to insure that cars aren't being driven with dangerous 40 or 50 year old tires, just to avoid a large deduction.

Take the 3 point deduct, find it somewhere else, its not worth the trouble.

Who would you recommend as a good source for a reproduction redline tire for my 67?

Try Coker Tires if you want to go radial. I used them for my '67 and they look great and handle well. Not sure about their redline bias ply tires

Unless there has been a significant change in their production, Coker does not have the correct tire tread count. I found that Kelsey Tire http://www.kelseytire.com/home.html has the best reproduction tires overal in my research for '68's. I would think that would carryover to '67's too. Be sure to read your original tire requirements in the '67 TJM. No need to make an expensive mistake.

I think that the reproduction goodyear WW tire is closer to OEM than the BFG tire. All the repop BFGs do not have the 660 after the silvertown like originals do. If you want a redline tire then the coker firestone supersport is the way to go. They are still easy to detect from OEM but I truly believe that Goodyear never made a redline tire in 67 inspite of what the manual says.
