64 Firewall wire harness J type clips

Hi Everyone,
Do any of the corvette venders sell the correct J clips attached to firewall? I purchase a set from one vendor and they do not look like originals that are on the car. Any pictures of clip location and attachment would be greatly appreciated, according to assembly manual some are bonded on others use rivets.

I don't know who sells these "j" clips but you can make them easy. Thin pieces of 1/32" strips and drill mounting hole. Round tip corners off. Use Dip It black for hand tools to coat the clips to within 1/8" of hole. Let dry and you have it.

I make all my own to replace the worn rusty originals. True most are secured with aluminum rivets to fiberglass. Saves a lot of work trying to clean up originals which still never look as new.

Thanks for the info. Do you know if the J clips were installed before or after the black was painted in engine compartment?

They were installed in the Body Shop, before blackout.

Did the hood release cable J clips get installed before or after blackout and were they bonded, riveted or screwed to the firewall?

All of the firewall J-clips were installed in the Body Shop, whether they were bonded, riveted, or screwed; the hood release cable clips were bonded, as shown in the Assembly Manual (UPC 11/13, sheets B6.00 and B7.00, item #38, Bond "B"). Underhood blackout was just about the last operation in the Paint Shop.
